About Dina
Dina is a British-Iraqi writer and award-winning graphic designer in London, specialising in branding and packaging design for international brands and purpose-led small businesses.
Alongside her design work, she creates inclusive children’s books for diverse families. Her latest book, Cool Stuff About Iraq, was made for her half-Iraqi son when she couldn’t find any positive and authentic representation in children’s publishing.
Dina brings strategic thinking, cultural insight, and a bold, joyful approach to her design, with her dual heritage shaping work that is culturally aware, inclusive and colourful.
Experience
Born in Southampton to Iraqi parents. Now based in east London.
Trained in art and design at Chelsea School of Art, followed by a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication Design.
Over 20 years’ experience working with leading branding agencies and global consumer brands, such as M&S and Pepsico, winning multiple design effectiveness awards.
Mother to a half-Scottish four-year-old, her son is the creative force and inspiration behind her inclusive children’s books.
Lived and worked in Dubai for three years, designing for Middle Eastern brands. Bilingual English–Arabic, with lived cultural insight across Middle Eastern contexts.
Qualified as a registered nutritionist (CNM) in 2019, and uses design to create accessible health resources for people underrepresented in wellness.
Currently freelancing with branding agencies and small businesses, alongside making books.
